Our Story
The environmental consultancy that forged a friendship and a great tribe
1999
The 3 founding partners of Ideas Medioambientales hand over the management of the NGO Social Action Volunteer (VAS), after 5 years leading it since its establishment as a youth association, which supports the DNA of the social and environmental commitment of Ideas Medioambientales (then operating under the IDEMA brand). During that year, the first restoration and environmental evaluation work began to take shape from a family home and private means in urban planning, energy and agriculture.
2000
The first offices are opened on the fourth floor of the Capitol building on Rosario Street in Albacete. From that year on, new ideas and profiles in archaeology, biology and engineering join the project, thus expanding their fields of work.
2002
Ideas Medioambientales is constituted as a Limited Company under the motto of “protection, conservation and regeneration of the environment”.
2006
The company relocates to its new offices on Iris Street in Albacete, and Ideas Medioambientales marked its first significant milestone in the growth of both team size and portfolio, reaching around fifteen people. This growth continues untilthe 2008 financial crisis, which, not free form effort, deep wounds and lasting scars -that are always present- prompted an strategic plan that shaped the evolution of the Ideas Medioambientales brand and its motto “Ideas inevolution, the best ideas are not the brightest, but those that respond best to change”.
2013
The first international adventure takes place, specifically in Peru, where the brand TEKMA is established under a consortium of companies: an engineering and environmental company focused on the renewable energy sector, which operated in the country for a period of time,with mixed outcomes; but that ultimately represented for Ideas an MBA and laid the basis for committing to a policy of strategic partnerships with shared corporate values.
2019
Due to the new phase of growth of Ideas Medioambientales linked to the crucial global energy and environmental roadmap, the company begins opperating from two new work centers on Iris St. and San Sebastián St. in Albacete, currently reinforced by two additional spaces in Madrid and Albacete. This milestone, which was not even interrupted by the pandemic, has led the company, on its 25th anniversary, to be a national benchmark consultancy with a team of over200 professionals, its own fleet of over 100 vehicles, local presence throughout the country, and a 360º portfolio based on sustainability as a core concept; and therefore under the new motto “we are neither what we do nor what we think, we are only the footprint we leave behind”.
