WWF Spain Presents the Wild Highways. Spanish Network of Ecological Corridors. A proposal by WWF Spain to create a Strategic Network of Ecological Corridors between Red Natura 2000 spaces, or in other words: 12 ecological corridors to ensure the connectivity of natural spaces and the mobility of Iberian fauna and flora and 17 critical areas for connectivity.
We are also happy to know that this is a report prepared by scientists from the guild of some of us. Specifically of the School of Forestry of the UPM (Polytechnic University of Madrid).
This is undoubtedly a new factor to consider in our environmental impact studies and in our environmental studies, since its purpose, according to WWW España, is to provide the necessary information to prevent new impacts, design policies compatible with the conservation of these corridors and implement concrete measures for the restoration and reconnection of these spaces.
