Sport adapted to society

Metasport CLM is an Association for the Development of Physical Activity and Adapted Sports that was born motivated by the need to provide space, equipment, personalized monitoring and adapted activities so that people with any type of disability could equally benefit from the benefits of physical activity and sports.

In Albacete alone, the National Statistics Institute (www.ine.es) estimates that more than 12,000 people between 16 and 65 years of age who have some type of disability live. In view of this social reality, the existence of Metasport CLM seems necessary in the city. They are willing to offer an adapted sports and physical activity service, while promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities. These are its two main lines of action:

• Facilitate access for people with disabilities to physical activity and sports habits.

1. Develop and plan adapted physical activity and sports programs, designed and supervised by specialized professionals.
2. Promote healthy habits in functional diversity and prevent their deterioration through adapted sports and physical exercise.

• Encourage and promote the social inclusion of people with functional diversity through physical activity.

1. Encourage physical activity and inclusive sports with the “outdoor” practice of activities and through the media for greater dissemination.
2. Raise awareness and inform through the organization of events based on physical activity and sports adapted to disabilities.
3. Investigate the social reality and the socio-psychological impact of physical activity and sports for people with disabilities.

For those who may be interested, there are different ways to collaborate with the Association:

• Amig@ of Metasport CLM: Starting at 10€ per year (contributions over 25€ will receive a t-shirt from the Association)
• Partner entity of Metasport CLM: Starting at 150€ per year.
• Collaborating entity with Metasport CLM: figure created to recognize in-kind contributions to the Association.
• Sponsoring entity of Metasport CLM: Starting at €3000 per year.

In addition, they are currently in the midst of a campaign to donate sports and gymnastics equipment that both individuals and companies can contribute to Metasport CLM for the execution of their purposes.
