You can count on the fingers of your hands people who truly know our environment in La Mancha, and one of those fingers goes to Juan Picazo Talavera, an honest biologist and naturalist, an enthusiastic teacher and a better person, he has spent half his life touring our fields in search of his “bugs” and the other half teaching what he learned from them, for some years he has been delighting us with various blogs such as Watching bugs or In the clouds of Albacete, as well as with the page of Content on Pinterest by Juan Picazo where he shows us various information about the common Flamenco that we have the pleasure of including in this post.

We also take this opportunity to recommend a visit to the endorheic complex of Pétrola, Salobrejo, Corral Rubio and La Higuera, where, in addition to the common flamingo, you can see a large number of aquatic birds both during wintering, as well as during passage and nesting, with species such as the white-headed malvasia, classified as endangered in Castilla La Mancha.
