Today we continue to tell you things about trained dogs and the environment. This time we are going to talk to you about dog training as part of our R&D project Biocan Utility, relating to the use of dogs trained in environmental and nature conservation tasks, and which we already presented to you a few days ago in the post Dogs for the environment. With the help of one of our partners, Marisa Jaquero, we explain to you how dog training is carried out and the relationship that is established between the technician-trainer and the canine workers.
Based on the guidelines of operative conditioning with positive reinforcement and working with real corpses of almost 50 different species of birds and chiroptera (bats), our trainers have managed to ensure that dogs of Biocan Utility obtain enviable detection rates, far surpassing human searchers in this type of work. And to all this we must also add the gratification of working with such good friends... If you want to know a little more about this relationship between dogs, the environment and people, don't miss the video.
We hope you like it.
