Environmental Ideas and the 2030 Agenda support network

Participation of Environmental Ideas in the launch of the “2030 Agenda Advisory Network for EELL”

The Ideas MedioAmbiental team is actively participating in the creation of a new”Sustainability and Participation Advisory Network”; a project that the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 granted, through the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda, to the provincial institution of Albacete. This initiative has received significant financial support from the Government of Spain, with a grant of 250,000 euros, aimed at supporting municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants in the implementation of their Local 2030 Agendas (A2030L).

Start of training for the technical team

At the beginning of June, the training of the technical team responsible for carrying out fieldwork in local authorities began. These sessions are being led by the winning companies, including Ideas MedioAmbiental and A21SOCtensible, with the monitoring and support of the Provincial Council of Albacete and the Provincial Sustainability Observatory of Albacete (OPSA).

Leadership of the Albacete Provincial Council in promoting the 2030 Agenda

The Albacete Provincial Council has exemplified the promotion of the 2030 Agenda at the local level, placing itself at the forefront of sustainable development. In this way, 74% of the towns in Albacete already have a Local Action Plan for the A2030. However, the lack of staff in smaller municipalities has made it difficult to energize and promote these plans.

Objectives of the project and benefits for municipalities

To address this challenge, the new “Advisory Network” will consist of specialized personnel who will work together with local councils and actors to promote these sustainability initiatives. This network is one of seven selected throughout Spain and the only one in Castilla-La Mancha, highlighting the commitment of the provincial institution to sustainable development.

Addressing rural challenges

The project also seeks to reduce territorial imbalances in rural areas, addressing problems such as depopulation, the aging of the population and the gender gap (among others). All of these efforts are aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
