Here we show you another of the many uses of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), which will allow you to leave behind the tedious fieldwork of counting chiroptera. Nature shows us in his article that laser scanning has been successfully used to identify and determine the exact population of sleeping bats in caves. LIDAR has accurately captured the 3D characteristics of sleeping bats and their spatial distribution patterns with minimal light. The high-resolution model shows an exact count in which the species are differentiated Hipposideros larvatus and its resting pattern within the 3D topology of the cave.
