We all know the reaction to a mosquito bite: inflammation of the skin that is always accentuated in people with hyperstimulation of the mast cell and eosinophil system (cells responsible for allergic reactions) or patients with a tendency to have allergic reactions.
But why do some people bite more than others?
Here are the reasons:
• Blood type: 0 is your favorite
• The levels of CO2 we emit when we breathe attract mosquitoes: These CO2 levels increase in adults, pregnant women and people who are overweight.
• Sweat: Mosquitoes have 27 odor receptors and the lactic acid contained in sweat activates their radars and it is known that pregnant women, tall people or those who have just exercised produce more lactic acid.
You know, patience or... repellents.
