Last Saturday, May 5, it was held at the climbing wall Toledo Rock Bridge, the Regional Climbing Championship, framed within the Somos Deporte Program of the Regional Government of Castilla la Mancha.

2018 is the first year in which climbing, in the bouldering modality, is part of the set of sports offered to athletes in our community. From the age of 6 to the oldest, they had a place in this competition.

The sponsors of this climb

The championship was made possible thanks to the commitment made to this type of event by J.Regional Government of Castile and La Mancha, Liberbank, the Impulsa Foundation, the Roca Bridge climbing wall in Toledo, the Mountain Sports Federation of Castilla La Mancha (which is holding a special promotion for this sport due to the large influx of athletes who have been registering in this discipline in recent years) and of course, we, Environmental Ideas.

The competition

Throughout the morning of the 5th, the qualifying phases were held among the approximately 100 participants of all ages, so that the 4 best climbers in each category could go to the final. These qualifiers were developed in a total of 25 blocks or small routes, which the climbers had to solve to go to the final.

In the afternoon, the finals were held in the usual format of national block climbing competitions. That is, with 3 blocks that climbers had to solve on sight. This involves scaling the block without prior information. The podiums were distributed between Toledo, Albacete and Cuenca, with the following results: [/vc_column_text] [/vc_column] [/vc_row]

A real pleasure to see that nature-related sports are in good hands.

On International Noise Awareness Day, we remember that reducing acoustic impact is key to protecting our health and biodiversity: you don't always have to make noise to get noticed, you just need to find the right sound.
