Twenty years of Environmental Ideas. Objective 2020

The Beginnings

Some entrepreneurs talk about their beginnings in garages and other more or less traditional places. In this case, it was in a youth room, full of notes, posters on the wall and a desire to take action. There, three “kids” made the big decision based on a common, and very clear idea: to take the helm of our professional destiny.

From there we migrated to an office next to that room: with chairs for two, a computer for one and a door that only opened to offer us a snack (thanks Ángela)

After that, the first job interview arrived and took us directly to the field. Uncontrolled waste management was the goal; soon the next opportunity happened. That is why we strive and dedicate our efforts to environmental restoration. To do this, we went to the mountains of Albacete in the autumn-winter season, to practice environmental management at the foot of a wind turbine, and so on one after another adventure with the fundamental premise that to learn a profession it must be known from below.

With these, we arrived at Calle del Rosario, two years later, where we installed what we thought would be our first and only operations center; consisting of two small rooms, a warehouse and more ashtrays than computers. Luckily, it would end up being only the first base camp thanks to the idea of never throwing in the towel, despite the soreness and multiple injuries of the first few years.

The Pillars

Environmental Ideas She was only two years old and some people already knew her as IDEMA, although it could also be STOMA, OZONE or some other names that were impossible to write. At this time, the question of making money was equated to the patience of the first creditors, our fathers and mothers. Among them was Emilio, or better known as “the fifth partner”; a key player in this journey, and to which Ideas MedioAmbiental owes an unpayable debt. There was also a fourth partner; Berre, who, although brief, knew how to trust this bet when hardly anyone knew this commercial name, at most that of the battery.

With the 2000 effect, we began to crush the keyboard and calculator in equal parts to be able to prepare and sell reports, memoirs or studies. But above all, we played a lot of games of a game that is now being played less and less: “Environmental Ideas Vs Blank Screen” .

Without realizing it, we began to meet people who were also betting on our way of earning a living, which forced us to migrate again in 2007, this time to Iris Street where the story continued, not without ups and downs. In the same way and with the same consequences, we recently opened a new headquarters on Calle de San Sebastián, renewing enthusiasm with a team of 30 colleagues and colleagues. A headquarters and a team that we would never have imagined in the best of dreams.

After twenty years, we have some clear ideas, which are sure to be celebrated by people who love and understand us. The fact is that one of the advantages of this profession is the possibility of knowing different disciplines (not only environmental ones) but all those that we have had to identify, analyze, evaluate and create often starting from scratch. We have had to work hard to improve our skills, with training being the best companion. To this we add the excellence of the professionals who have accompanied us.

Eternal gratitude

It is clear that the people who formed, form and will be part of Ideas are the ones who have made it grow, not to mention other people and companies that have opted for Environmental Ideas and not for a “sheet” supplier. From the most modest consultation to the development of large investments, we have tried to dedicate the same attention and commitment to all of them. Through empathy, and even friendship, we have been able to be part of the journey to their destination. We will always be grateful to all of them, they are the basis that fuels our concern.

In this balance of thanks, their three main allies cannot be missing; born by chance in the same month of the same year, a moment that seems to have endowed them with extrasensory abilities and superpowers such as infinite patience and full trust; surpassed only by the main reason for being (and which we did not know in the beginning); the desire to leave our daughters and sons a better world, because it is they who make us better and deserve our best version.

The celebration of this twentieth anniversary is justified by the need to convey to our family, friends, friends, colleagues and colleagues our gratitude for having brought us here.

The enthusiasm never ceases, and it grows with work, the goals achieved encourage us to seek new ones, and the path we have left we hope to do so in as good company as the one we have had until now.
