As we did in 2012, and for the second consecutive year we are finishing drafting and editing the 2013 annual report of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. Within the memory, we wanted to collect the actions, commitments and policies with which Ideas MedioAmbiental addresses social, labor, environmental and respect for human rights concerns.

From this synthesis exercise, we have prepared a document, which we have divided into three chapters, corresponding to the Identity of our company, the actions carried out and the commitment made to CSR.

In advance of the publication of the report, we have retrieved an excerpt from each of these chapters, which we want to share with you on our Blog.

The first chapter talks about our identity, who we are and how we relate to each other. And although we are reluctant to talk about ourselves in these terms, we believe that our experience can serve as an example to other entities. So without further ado, we introduce ourselves:

Our hallmarks are Innovation, Creativity and Commitment. Along with these elements, Professionalism and Technical Rigor are the way we face challenges.
For this reason, after more than fourteen years of sustainable growth, and continuous customer loyalty. We have built on these pillars, to consolidate and strengthen this business model through:

  • Proactivity, continuously taking on new professional challenges, and promoting the continuous improvement of all our services.
  • The creation, and continuous review, of a portfolio in accordance with the business and social reality of which we are part; which implies added value and a clear differentiating component.
  • The development and application of models and technical tools based on sustainability under the criteria of efficiency and continuous advice to our clients.

Our principles of responsibility are based on our way of working, as well as on the way we face challenges:

  • Responsibility to our customers, offering a wide range of services that result in the quality and efficiency of the final product.
  • Responsibility towards the staff who work in our company, managing their professional development and implementing the necessary measures and tools to make it compatible with their personal lives.
  • Responsibility towards society in general, and towards entities and organizations in our local area in particular, acquiring a high degree of social commitment, which is reflected in multiple collaborations and in the provision of free services.
  • Commitment to the environment as a fundamental factor in our company, to be taken into account in any economic and business activity, which should not be at odds with its conservation and respect or with the normal evolution of any society responsible for the environment that surrounds it.

As a company that we are, maintaining and consolidating our customers is one of our strongest commitments. In this way, within our company policy, we have established the necessary mechanisms to strengthen and promote our commitment to them.

  • Through the development of our products,
  • the improvement in our forms of communication,
  • as well as the training of our brand, and its excellence.
  • All of this, based on confidentiality and the generation of trust in our people and products.

In line with this commitment, throughout 2013, we have developed new services and created new departments. This generation of resources has been based on the technological progress of our R+D+i department, as well as on a firm commitment to the application of this knowledge. This initiative has enabled the possibility of editing new publications to give added value to our products (you can click to download them):

In the same way, we have increased our participation in congresses with the edition of technical communications:

  • ECOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE BANKS OF THE LAGUNA DEL ARQUILLO NATURAL MONUMENT AS A BASIS FOR THEIR RECOVERY AND RESTORATION.
  • LOCAL BIODIVERSITY AS AN INDICATOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES INDUCED BY A PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT

In the same way that we have generated academic value to our work, seeking forms of collaboration with public and private institutions, through the generation of knowledge in the development of our work. Within this area, it is worth highlighting:

  • REHABILITATION OF PRIMILLARIES: EL POZUELO.

In coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and in application of the Compensatory Measures for the construction of the Mingorrubio Wind Farm, and funded by the developer: E-on. A project for the recovery of primaries was carried out in the town of El Pozuelo, in the province of Albacete.

  • ACTIONS TO CONTROL INVASIVE ALIEN SPECIES IN PROTECTED AREAS IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBACETE: CYLINDROPUNTIA ROSEA

Through the award of the call of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha for a public offer to carry out actions to control invasive alien species in protected areas in the province of Albacete. We carry out work to detect and eradicate the species Cylindropuntia rosea within some enclaves both inside and outside protected areas; as well as an environmental awareness campaign on this problem aimed at schools and populations in the province of Albacete.

Noise isn't good, but good doesn't make noise

On International Noise Awareness Day, we remember that reducing acoustic impact is key to protecting our health and biodiversity: you don't always have to make noise to get noticed, you just need to find the right sound.
