With this curious name, the pine processionary is known, the most important pest of the Mediterranean pine forests that already roams freely in our mountains and parks. Remember that we must be careful and not approach them, neither we nor our pets, since caterpillars are covered with stinging hairs that come off and float in the air and can cause irritation thanks to the stinging capacity of a thermolabile toxin they carry, called thaumatopine.
