Today, May 21, 2015, marks the third edition of the European Day of the Natura 2000 Network, a day that serves those of us who dedicate ourselves to “this” to publicize and recognize the value of this great network of protected areas present in all the countries of the European Union.
Over the course of these days, more than 100 activities are taking place in 28 provinces of Spain, including birdwatching, ringings, children's workshops, environmental information points, volunteer work, etc.

You can participate by publicizing this day and this Network with simple gestures such as making the butterfly gesture with your hands and sending your photos through the Natura 2000 Day website or social networks with the hashtag #Natura2000Day following the slogan of the campaign: The simple flapping of a butterfly can change the worldor.
27,000 protected areas and one million square kilometers across Europe make up the Natura 2000 Network, the European Union's biggest commitment to conserve our most emblematic species and habitats, and I'm sure you have one very close to you.
