World Wetlands Day

Today, February 2nd, is World Wetlands Day.

The future of humanity depends on wetlands, they purify and replenish water, and provide the fish and rice that feed billions, act as a natural sponge against floods and drought, and protect our coasts in a natural way. They have great biodiversity, and are a vital means of storing carbon.

Unfortunately, these benefits are not widely known, as they are often seen as wasteland, so much so that 64% of wetlands have disappeared since 1900.

Ideas MedioS.L. joins World Wetlands Day 2015 by signing the following commitments in World Wet Lands Day:

Educate friends, family and colleagues about the importance of wetlands.

At Ideas MedioAmbiental we are committed to disseminating materials and to educating and raising awareness among all our followers and clients about the importance of protecting wetlands.

Invite others to make a commitment to conserve wetlands.

From Ideas MedioAmbiental, taking advantage of the international day of wetlands and our impact on social networks, we are going to invite all our followers to sign one of these commitments.

Visit a wetland in your area and learn about the wild plants and animals that inhabit it.

Even if it doesn't involve any effort for us, given our vocation, Ideas MedioAmbiental will visit one of the splendid wetlands in Castilla-La Mancha and we will spread the importance of its biodiversity in our networks.

Take shorter showers to save water and don't leave the faucet running while brushing your teeth.

At Ideas MedioAmbiental we make responsible use of water, aware that it is a vital, scarce and very important resource for our ecosystem. We have all the technical measures available and with the highest awareness.
